Families across Newcastle living with dementia can now receive vital specialist support thanks to the launch of a new Dementia Service, Dementia Connections Service Newcastle. The service is launched through a partnership between Age UK North Tyneside, Search Newcastle, and Dementia UK, and has been made possible with a generous donation from The Barbour Foundation and additional support from the Ballinger Trust.
This new service will involve Dementia support across varying levels of support for people living with Dementia, and their families and carers. All organisations involved in making this service available are proud to bring this service to the area, as it is in demand, with over 4,000 people in Newcastle diagnosed with dementia. The service will also support the families and carers of those living with dementia, something that is often overlooked.

Age UK North Tyneside has been delivering Admiral Nurse care to the North Tyneside region, and is proud to offer this service in Newcastle as well. Dementia Connections Service Newcastle will include specialist support and advice delivered by experienced Admiral Nurses, helping ensure the highest standards of dementia support across the city.
