Are you free on Tuesday afternoons?

Sporting Chance is a brand new activity session from Search for older people who are interested in sport but might find it an effort to take part in intensive sport. Our Sporting Chance sessions will include:

• Gentle sporting activities (table tennis, golf putting challenge)
• A sports quiz and a chance to enter a sporting sweepstake
• Prizes for the winners

Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, drop in from 12 noon to 2 pm.

Scotswood Sports Centre, Denton Road (opposite the Excelsior Academy)

£1 – Price includes tea/coffee and bacon butty*
*vegetarian alternative will be provided if advance notice given

Calling all you Creative People!
Search has been selected by Newcastle Arts Team to be involved in their Carnival Arts Project. This arts based programme will include some Newcastle Winter Festival activities. We will engage with the carnival artists and  participate in a variety of dance, music and costume making workshops up until March 2017.

If you would like to get your creative juices going and also partake in some cake, coffee and any of the carnival activities mentioned please contact us at Search on 0191 2737443.

The St James local history group has released their programme for the beginning of 2017. The talks take place at the West end library at the bottom of Condercum Road in Benwell. Everyone is welcome.

Monday 20 February 1pm, West End Library Illustrated talk by John Charlton about Newcastle’s connections with the business of slavery.
 
 
Elswick through the years
Monday 20 March 1pm, 
West End Library Exhibition of maps and photographs showing the development of Elswick over the centuries, with an introductory talk by West Newcastle Picture History Collection.
