As many of you might know Dee Johnson retired from Search earlier this month after 18 years helping older people at Search. Over the years she has supported thousands to receive their proper benefits in old age. There was a party at St James Church on April 3 to thank Dee for all her amazing work. Dee was presented with a bouquet of flowers from the Lord Mayor Hazel Stephenson who is also a Councillor for Benwell.

Search is having a Ceilidh on Thursday May 4 to raise funds for the important work it does with older people in the West end. Music is provided by the Deadly Ernest Band and will begin 7.30 pm at Tyneside Irsish Centre in Gallowgate. Search was the victim of a type of phone hack during the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, criminals illegally took control of our charity's phones and made a large number of international calls before they were stopped. Our phone provider is billing us for £4400 and this will have a small but significant mpact on the number of activities and support we will be able to provide. If you want to help us to put on activities and trips for older people in the west of Newcastle please go to MyDonate and change things for the better.
